Last spring, I witnessed an incident of harassment. I knew that filing a bias report was an available resource, and I knew I had to respond somehow. I filled out the form online as soon as I got back to my dorm.
I was surprised by the speed of response. Once I submitted a report, I was contacted by University police less than an hour later and heard from Dean Goldstein the next morning.
It turned out that the perpetrators weren’t students here, which I was glad to know. I’d gotten their license plate and reported it to campus police who investigated and banned the individuals from campus.
The Report Bias channel allows you to be more than just a bystander when you witness bias. It’s confidential, quick, and allowed me to help combat harmful culture.
